NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE
February 17 @ 9:00 am - February 18 @ 5:00 pm$175.00
In this 8-hour course, you will learn proper handling, firearm safety, range procedures, ammunition, and shooting fundamentals of revolvers and semi-automatic handguns. The course includes range time, firearms, and ammunition, but if you want to bring your own firearm, you are welcome to do so.
This course is designed to teach the first-time pistol shooter the proper way to handle and shoot a handgun and is accepted by Illinois as 8 of the required 16 hours of training for an Illinois Concealed Carry License. Call for details if you want to spilt up the days for your Conceal Carry Class.
Since you are under instruction, Illinois residents are not required to have a FOID card to take this class. You will learn NRA rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting from the bench rest position and two-handed standing positions, cleaning the pistol, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will also take the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.
